Minutes of Meetings

Meeting 1

Date: 15 January

Time: 1.35 pm to 2 pm
Venue: InfoHub Discussion Room
Absentees: None

What did we do during this time?

First, we settled what roles and duties each member of our team would perform. Nikisha became our blog manager and Javier and Sean became researchers. Ray remained as team leader.

We then decided on our research topic, out of the many 15 century global problems list.

The research topic that we picked was Health Issues. Which specific health issue? Affordable health care for third world countries.

We later went to take care of our blog, taking our group photo and editing it.

Meeting was then dismissed.

Meeting 7

Date: 17 February
Time: 9.35 pm - 10.05 pm
Venue: Online
Absentees: Javier (Unwell), Sean

Purpose:
We discussed our future plans on how to conduct research; via books or Internet, and we weighed the pros and cons of each method, and we planned how to attain books for research, as good books suitable for research is more difficult to find, so we eventually decided to have a group outing to the Clementi branch library; either after school on Thursday or on Sunday morning (This however, was cancelled due to lack of a standard time we were all available). We also finalised and further elaborated on our group's goals and shared current problems that we knew of regarding healthcare systems in general. Lastly, we added and elaborated on to our methods tab

Meeting 8

Date: 18 February
Time: 11.05-11.55 am
Venue: Class
Absentees: None

Purpose:
We shared with each other the results of the online meeting the previous night as not everyone was present. We asked and clarified questions regarding our topic with Mr Lim and we decided on the three countries we would be individually delving deeper into for a better understanding of different types of healthcare systems. These countries are India, Thailand, the USA, and of course, Singapore. We confirmed that we would rather conduct interviews than surveys, for obvious reasons, due to our research topic but unsuited for surveys. We settled duties, more research assignments, and future plans too. We finally decided to meet up online on Sunday at 4pm for further discussion.

Meeting 8

Date: 25 Feb
Time: 2-3
Venue:  InfoHub
Absentees: Sean

Purpose:
Our main purpose today was to discuss and begin formulating the questions we would ask during our interview. As mentioned in our other tabs, we would be interviewing Mr Mark Lim's friend/colleague in the united states, as well as Nikisha's father, whom is a research professor specialising in the field of healthcare and public policy.
Through these two interviews, we are hoping to gain a deeper insight to our topic and another angle to view our research from. Thus, it is important to have questions prepared to maximise the information gained and make the most out of one interview, so we would not need to bother the interviewees again in case of insufficient answers.

Meeting 10

Date: 15 April
Time: 3pm - 4.30pm
Venue: InfoHub Meeting Room
Absentees: Sean

Purpose:
For our conclusions, we had decided to create a video rather than write it out in text format. Not only would this allow for a more interesting conclusion to our project, but it is also quicker and more convenient for viewers. Not to mention that it's not as much of an eyesore!

During this meeting, we planned how we would go about filming this, and we planned out exactly what our content would consist of, along with meting out roles and duties.

Meeting 10

Date: 17 April
Time: 2.20pm - 2.40pm
Venue: InfoHub
Absentees: Javier

Purpose:
We had used this quick meeting to start with our filming. Our initial idea was to create a stop-motion video consisting of audio and writings on a piece of paper, but this proved too difficult and inefficient. Because of this, we had to come up with a new plan for our video. Eventually, we settled on using Popplet and use a screen recording software to film it being updated live-time as a narrator speaks. The actual filming had to be done at home, due to convenience and the fact that Nikisha had co-curricular activities to attend to.

In the process

And we are done with our project!
